It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Colombe McCarthy, nee Picard, of Hawkesbury, formerly of Ottawa, Ontario. Colombe passed away on Wednesday, June 9, 2021, at the age of 84. Daughter of the late Julien Picard and the late Cécile Tessier. Beloved mother of Diana (late Gilbert Gravel), Michael and Brian. Cherished grandmother of Vicky Deschambault. Also survived by brothers and sisters, Noëlla (late Raymond Groulx), Anita (late Wilfred Harrigan), Andréa (late Robert Séguin), Agathe (Gérald Séguin), Marcel (Claudette Murray) and Michel (France Hogue). She will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by three brothers, Léopold (Raymonde Sauvé), Conrad (late Pauline Maisonneuve) and Yvon (Francine Desjardins); one sister Anna (late Al Benny) and by her children’s father Harry McCarthy.
Due to the current circumstances, a Private Family Liturgy of the Word will be held on Friday, July 2, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. in the Lamarre & Son Funeral Home’s Chapel, 453 St. Philippe Street, Alfred, Ontario, (613) 679-2802. For those who wish, by clicking the ‘‘Live Stream’’ button on Mrs. McCarthy’s webpage, you will have access to the Celebration that will be live streamed on the date and time identified above.
Special thanks to the staff of the Palliative Care Unit at the Ottawa Hospital, General Campus for their compassion and devoted care provided to our mother.
