It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our cherished father, David “Dave” Larabie, on August 4, 2025, at the age of 77. He departed peacefully, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family, following a brief but courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
David leaves behind a legacy of resilience, compassion, and unwavering devotion to those whose lives he touched. He was predeceased by his parents, Amos “Sonny” Larabie and Lucille (née Villeneuve); his beloved wife, Micheline (née Poirier); his brother, Ronnie Larabie; and his sister Shirley Pollock (née Larabie).
He will be deeply missed by his daughters, Jodie Lachance (Martin Lachance) and Roxanne Nizio (Neil Williams); his treasured grandchildren: Elise Nizio, Annika Nizio, Olivia Nizio, Maxime Lachance, Alexandre Lachance, and Margaux Lachance; his loving partner, Rosemma DeCarlo; his brothers: Kenny Larabie, Malcolm Larabie (Melinda), and Perry Larabie; his sisters: Barb O’Sullivan, Faye Darby, and Joanne Krock (Kevin); his sister-in-law, Nicole Poirier; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and nurses of the Hawkesbury and District General Hospital Emergency Department for their compassion, care, and support.
In accordance with David’s wishes, there will be no visitations. A memorial service will be held on August 15, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at la Paroisse St-Joseph d’Orléans. Family and friends are invited to gather at the church prior to the service from 10:00 a.m.

So sorry to hear of Dave’s passing, I am a golf buddy in Lachute and we sure miss him, may he rest in peace
I remember Dave back from high school . He had such a sense of humor !! Just a sweet guy !! May the Lord comfort him and his family
I would like to express my deepest condolences to Jodi, Roxanne and family. Dave and Mimi were very good to me growing up. Dave was a loyal friend to our family during the good times and bad. Loyalty is often discussed yet few can demonstrate it the way Dave had. You’re speech at my wedding is something that I will never forget. We never did get to ride together but I know full well that you are olling through the “Pearly Gates” only to be greeted by many loved ones and friends who have gone before.
My deepest condolences to Dave’s family. I knew Dave in high school and I see by the remarks, that he remained the kind and gentle person he was back then. As a teenager, he would visit with his baby sister Joanne in his arms. I knew he was a good guy. My heart goes out to you.
Sincere condolences to the Larabie and Villeneuve families. It was a pleasure to meet David, walking on the main street and chat together a few words. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. May he rest in peace.
Rest in peace David. Sympathies a la famille
To David’s daughters, Jodie and Roxanne as well my dearest friend Faye and her siblings, thank you for sharing Dave with us. We always enjoyed our time with him, Mimi too as we have had the opportunity to be with them on many occasions in Maryland, Myrtle Beach and even a few times when we crossed the border into Canada. Dave was always warm and gracious to us, and we could tell that he was a man of great integrity. It was clear to see that he loved his family fiercely and would do anything that he could to see them succeed…unless, of course, it was a game of cards or dice, then his competitive spirit came out LOUD. This was always fun to witness. Chris and I have great memories of Dave and the entire Larabie family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this time of loss. Hang on tight to those still among you and cherish every minute together. We love you all. The Gentrys
