In order to respect Elaine’s last wishes, a Private Family Celebration of her life will be held in the Lamarre & Son Funeral Home’s Chapel.
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Elaine Lalonde, nee Benson, of Ottawa, ON, on Monday, December 29, 2025, at the age of 81. Beloved wife of the late Marcel Lalonde and loving mother of Lynn (Chuck Gudgeon). Predeceased by her parents Garnet Benson and Hazel Fletcher, her stepfather Chester Harrigan, one brother Douglas (late Dytha Robillard) and one sister Catherine (late Don O’Neill). She will be sadly missed by her brother Dale (Nora) and two sisters, Janet (late Roger Gour) and Joan (late Réjean Leduc), many nieces and nephews.
Some of Elaine’s adventures included two separate trips to Bahama’s with husband Marcel in their boat. On their first trip, they bravely set a course to Bahama’s by themselves, leaving from Kingston Ontario. On their second trip, they travelled with a fellow boater also from Kingston. Much time was spent exploring the 1000 Islands, trips to the east coast and wintering in Florida.
In order to respect Elaine’s last wishes, a Private Family Celebration of her life will be held in the Lamarre & Son Funeral Home’s Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, for those wishing, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox & Addington, 1200 Princess Street, Kingston, Ontario K7M 3C9 or www.alzheimer.ca/kfla/en, would be appreciated.
