Due to the current circumstances, a Private Family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in L’Orignal, Ontario.
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Fabien Noël Dubé, on Monday, June 8, 2020, at the age of 79. Born in Saint-Martin-de-Beauce (Qué.), longtime resident of Ottawa, he was the loving husband of Renée Proulx-Dubé for over 50 years; father of Nathalie, Jean-François (Katia Droniou), Philippe and Julie; beloved grandfather of Lucas. He was predeceased by his parents Yvonne Pépin and Albert Dubé, his brothers Jules and Ange-Aimé and by brothers-in-law. He is also survived by his siblings Germain, Fleur-Ange, Yolande, Benoît, Ghislaine, Sylviane, Roch and Alain, as well by many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends.
A lover of words and numbers, endlessly fascinated by science and history, Fabien had an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and displayed great intellectual curiosity, which were fed by reading, travel, and documentaries. Known for his logic, pragmatism, and resilience, as well as his special sense of humour based on wordplay, he was guided throughout his life by a strong sense of civic and familial duty.
We wish to express our gratitude to all those who provided exceptional personal care to Fabien throughout his long fight against Inclusion Body Myositis (IBM), specially to the personnel of Champlain LINH, Bayshore Healthcare, and the Hawkesbury General Hospital & District for their dedication and compassion.
In light of the current situation, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at a family gathering in L’Orignal, Ont.
Please consider making donations in his name to the Hawkesbury & District General Hospital Foundation and Myositis Canada.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Lamarre & Son Funeral Home, 453 St. Philippe Street, Alfred, Ontario, (613) 679-2802.
