In keeping with Fern’s wishes, everything will be done privately.

After a courageous battle with cancer, it is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we announce the passing of Fern Cormier of Hawkesbury, formerly of Lanark, Ontario, on Thursday, November 14, 2019, at the age of 82 years.  He was the beloved husband and best friend of Jan Muir. Loving son of Lucille (nee Collins) and the late William Cormier of Timmins, Ontario. He is survived by his brothers Jerry (Carol Desormeau) and Norman (Lise-Anne Cormier) of Timmins, sister-in-law Kathy Brady (late Bob) of Orleans, Ontario.

In keeping with Fern’s wishes, there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place.

Fern will be sadly missed by family and friends.

Special thanks to the Palliative Care Team for his care, especially to his nurse Joel and Dr. Anthony Di Cintio.

In lieu of flowers for those who wish, in memoriam donations to the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation, 1500 Alta Vista Drive, Ottawa, Ontario, K1G 3Y9, would be appreciated.

      Jan, there are no words that can remove the pain that you are now feeling. Treasure your memories of Fern – for they will give you the strength to carry on. Remember his laughter, his smile and all the great times you shared together. Take the time to grieve – hold tight to your memories of Fern for comfort and lean on family and friends for strength, you’re in my thoughts and prayers – I luv you.

      Hon, I don’t know how I am going to go on without you. You were my whole life. I miss your smile, and your sense of humor, our road trips, our vacations away from home, our days out on the lake. I hope each day will get a wee bit better, right now I feel my world is falling apart without you. I love you so much.
