It is with sadness and regret that we announce the passing of Hubert Seguin from Ottawa, originally from Plantagenet, Ontario. For the last four years, he fought a valiant and courageous fight, and passed away peacefully on June 12, 2024.
Hubert was the owner of Salon Royal on Sparks St., and dedicated many years of community service to minor hockey, his true passion!
Hubert was predeceased by his parents Albert Seguin and Caroline Seguin (nee Scott), as well as his sister Florence and his brother Marcel, both of which he cared for until their passing. He was also predeceased by his wife Monique (nee Barbarie) of Plantagenet, to whom he was married for 41 years. Monique passed away in 2007.
Hubert is survived by his two sons, Daniel (Sherri) and Christian (Laura), and his grandson Lucas, as well as his loving and close friend Deanna who cared deeply for him. He was also a proud uncle to his four nieces Carole, Mary Kaye, Lynn and Debbie (Watson). He was most grateful for Mary Kaye who ensured his care and well-being during this difficult time. She was truly his guardian angel. A special thank you to the May Court Hospice who took such good care of him during the last several weeks.As per his wishes, Hubert will be laid to rest beside his love, Monique, in Plantagenet. We invite family and friends to join us on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St-Gabriel’s Parish to celebrate Hubert’s life. Family will receive condolences from 10 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the May Court Hospice will be appreciated.

I am so sorry for the loss of your Dad. Danny and Chris, you were both so treasured by your Mom & Dad. And Lucas was a true shining light.
I so enjoyed working alongside Monique, she was so efficient and caring to our patients. Your Dad always had a smile.
