It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Irene ‘‘Rene’’ Elson, nee Taylor, of Greely, Ontario, surrounded by her sons, on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at the age of 93. Beloved wife of the late Jeffrey Elson. Daughter of the late Christopher Taylor and the late May Guthridge. Loving mother of Adrian (Lynda) and Robert (Dyane). Grandmother of Krystin (Dylan), Devon (Max) and Dominic (Jen) and great-grandmother of Maddox, Clark and James. Also survived by her brothers, Ron (Margret) and Allan (Anthea) and sisters, Evelyn (late Phillip) and Elizabeth (John). She will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Predeceased by her brothers, Chris (Margret), Wilf (late Barbra) and Lorne (Ann).
In order to respect Irene’s last wishes, a private celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
A special thank you to the staff at Perley Health in Ottawa for their dedication and the compassionate care they provided to our mother.
