It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Jean Guy Lalonde of Ottawa, Ontario, on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at the age of 90 years. Beloved husband of 64 years to the late Lucienne Lalonde. Dear son of the late Percy Lalonde and the late Julia Dupont. Loving father of the late Paul (Mary Carroll). Cherished grandfather of Victoria Grandmaison. Also survived by brothers and sisters, Hubert (Colombe Leduc), Gisèle (late Gilles Duchesne), Agathe (Maurice Poirier), Gilles (Cécile Lalonde), Royal (Monique Poirier) and Claude (Jocelyne Casavant). He will be fondly remembered by many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by one brother, Irené and two sisters, Dolorès (late Charlemagne Larivière) and Rachelle (André St-Onge).
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at 2 p.m. at St. Sébastien Church, 1000 Frances Street, Ottawa, followed by interment at St. Luc Cemetery, Curran, Ontario. The family would like to extend an invitation to family and friends to meet them at the church before the funeral from 1:15 p.m.
Special thanks to the nursing staff, doctors, social workers, especially Manon and Eve and his palliative nurse Anne at the Montfort Hospital for their compassion and devoted care provided to Jean Guy.
In lieu of flowers, for those who wish to make a donation in Jean Guy’s memory, a donation to the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation, www.ottawacancer.ca and/or to the Montfort Foundation, www.montfortfoundation.ca, would be greatly appreciated.
