It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of John Gourgon of Lefaivre, ON, on Thursday, December 25, 2025, at the age of 74. Beloved husband of Diane Hull. Dear son of the late Hector Gourgon and the late Cécile Brazeau. Loving father of Amanda (Jason Charbonneau) and cherished grandfather ‘‘Phapha’’ of Maëlla and Ezekiel. John will be sadly missed by his brothers and sisters, Lorraine (late Philippe Emond), Hector ‘‘Pit’’ (Julie Lalande), Daniel (Carole Gigoux), Guy (Cindy Illingworth) and Linda (Ron Brooks), many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, friends and neighbours. He will also be fondly remembered by his chosen family from the Good Times Fishing Club, François Lalande (Sylvie St-Denis) and late Richard Landry (Sandra Harris). Predeceased by one sister Lucille (late Peter Wilkinson) and three brothers, Richard (Lois Bigelow), Mitchell (Charlene Joyce) and Robert (Ray Dupuis).
To celebrate John’s life, relatives and friends may call at the Alfred Community Centre, 520 St. Philippe St, Alfred, ON, on Saturday, January 17, 2026, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
A special thank you to the Hemodialysis Team at the Hawkesbury and District General Hospital for the excellent care they provided.
