It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Michel Dorion of Alfred, Ontario, formerly of Laval, Quebec, surrounded by his family, on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at the age of 69. Beloved husband of Diane Smith. Dear son of the late Gérard Dorion and the late Adrienne Gauthier. Loving father of Denis (Sarah Price) and Joanne and stepfather of Louise-Hélène Meloche (Jean-François Olsen), Sandra Smith and Nancy Meloche (Sylvain Leblanc). Cherished grandfather of Madison, Daphne and Hannah Dorion, Arielle O’Neil, Vincent Olsen, Amélie Brucher, Geremy, Jessica, Samuel and Alexandre Leblanc. Also survived by four sisters, Thérèse (Rémi), Colette (Michel), Lucienne (Florent) and Lise (Daniel), many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by his brother René and one sister Johanne.
Friends and relatives may visit at Lamarre & Son Funeral Home, 453 St. Philippe Street, Alfred, Ontario, (613) 679-2802, on Friday, March 14, 2025, from 10:30 a.m. A Celebration of Michel’s life will be held the same day at 13:30 p.m. in the funeral home’s chapel.
A special thank you to the staff of the Montfort Hospital for their compassion and devoted care provided to Michel.
In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, donations to the Wounded Warriors Canada, www.woundedwarriors.ca, would be appreciated.
