It is with both sadness and a sense of peace that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Normand Lapensée, formerly of Ottawa, originally from Plantagenet, ON, on May 8, 2025, at the age of 86, after a very long journey of declining health. Normand is lovingly remembered by his children, André (Lise Ladouceur) and Manon (Craig MacDonald). He also leaves behind his former wife, Diane Gauthier. Normand will be missed by his eight cherished grandchildren, Cameron and Olivia MacDonald, and Nicolas and Vanessa Lapensée, as well as Andrew, Stephani, Tasha, and Jessica-Lynn.
He is predeceased by his parents Ferdinand and Cécile Lapensée (Châtelain), his siblings, Yvon (late Olive), Paulin (late Marielle), Guy, Jocelyne and Céline. He is remembered by his siblings, Jean-Claude, Denyse (late Patrick Kelly), Marie-Blaise, Raymond, Conrad and their spouses, and many nieces and nephews.
Norm was a lifelong sports enthusiast. If it was considered a sport, he was probably a fan. His favourite sport was hockey of course, and his beloved teams were the Montreal Canadiens and the Ottawa Senators. We take solace in knowing that he is surrounded by his brothers, sisters and parents. May he finally rest in eternal peace.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at 11 a.m. at St-Paul Church, Plantagenet. The family would like to extend an invitation to family and friends to meet them at the church before the funeral from 10 a.m.
