It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Odile Vander Poelen, who passed away peacefully on March 22, 2026 at the age of 90. She was the daughter of the late Pierre Theis and the late Paula Theis (nee Henroset), and the beloved wife of the late Georges Vander Poelen.
She was the cherished mother of Marc Vander Poelen (Sue) and Luc Vander Poelen. She was the adored grandmother of Jenna (Scott), Justin (Alex) and Aléna, and the proud great-grandmother of Wynston, Samuel, Norah, and Kiptyn. She also leaves in sorrow her sister, Marie-Louise Krings (late Harold), as well as many nephews, nieces, and friends. She was predeceased by her brothers and sisters.
The family would like to thank the staff at Saint Vincent Hospital for their compassion and the excellent care provided during her stay.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 29, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Lamarre & Son Funeral Home (453 St-Philippe Street, Alfred, ON). The family will receive condolences from 1:30 p.m. prior to the service.

I am so sorry for the families loss. I haven’t known Odile long but she was such a kind and sweet soul. I am thankful for getting to know her and Luc. Rest in peace. Heaven has gained an extraordinary angel.
