A celebration of life will be held on May 2nd, 2026 from 1pm-4pm at 819 Cartier St, Curran ON, K0B 1C
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Shawna McCooeye, who passed away on March 11, 2026 at the age of 54. She was the beloved daughter of the late Kenneth McCooeye and the late Anne Marie Verity.
She leaves in sadness, but with wonderful memories, her son Joshua Leduc (Kayla Lécuyer), and her siblings, Adam (Tania), Allisa, and Jason (Paulette). She also leaves in sorrow her nieces and nephew, Bryanna Romeo (Julien Guilbeault), Olivia Romeo, Sophia Romeo, Jessy Cadieux (Zoé), and Amanda Cadieux (Jeff Curran). She also leaves behind her partner Gord Jaeck as well as many friends and extended family.
A celebration of life will be held on May 2nd, 2026 from 1pm-4pm at 819 Cartier St, Curran ON, K0B 1C0.
In memory of Shawna, donations to the Casselman Veterinary Clinic (695 Aurèle Road, Casselman, ON) would be greatly appreciated.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish your entire family. My deepest condolences. I’m Rachel Rizzi‘s mother-in-law. I had the pleasure of meeting most of you at the wedding. Shawna stood out and came to welcome me which I will never forget. She’s been so direct lol. She said I love your perfume. Will you buy it for me and I did. I bought it for her and she absolutely loved it. I’m so glad I did that now. We don’t know why things happen in life, but we have to accept. We don’t have any other choice. May God give you peace while you’re grieving and remember she always always will be in your heart.

I remember seeing Shawna in H.S. I didn’t really know her, but I remember seeing her and she was always smiling. I’m very sorry for your loss. I hope you can some day find comfort in the memories.

Such a sad news to learn about Shawna’s passing at such an early age. I knew her more as a child as her father, Ken was my little poodle groomer.
